Saundra Mortenson

Sandy Mortenson is a seasoned Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works with a wide age range including children ages 8 and older, adolescents, individual adults, families, elders, blended and unique families and couples. Specialties include trauma of any type including accidents, military and first responder experience, community and domestic violence, different forms of abuse or neglect, early attachment issues and early medical trauma. Younger children with medical trauma are seen with parents.

Sandy is trained in EMDR ( Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and has done specialty training in the use of EMDR with children; Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy training has been completed and evidence based practices are tailored to individual needs. Sexual abuse is a special focus as is complex trauma

Sandy obtained her education at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI and holds a Master of Social Work degree with a B.A. and M.A. in Sociology. She has worked in a variety of settings including research, hospital, community mental health, private practice, a faith based non-denominational practice and a private boarding school. Her experience includes community education, child abuse prevention and presentation at the state of Indiana’s Prevent Child Abuse Indiana conference.
